It is the first time that the Czech Republic will have its representative in the Board of the European Society of International Law (ESIL). ESIL is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organisation of international law scholars aimed at promoting the study of international law. On 8-11 September 2016, the 12th Annual Conference of the European Society of International Law took place in Riga, the capital of Latvia. During the conference, the coordinator of the IIR Centre for International Law Veronika Bílková was elected to the ESIL Board.
